Optimal Design, Dynamic Modeling and Analysis of a Hybrid Power System for a Catamarans Boat in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a land of rivers, canals, and lakes where water transportation an essential means transport. The country use boats as one the leading resources carrier in its widespread inland waterways. Most currently used only diesel for fuel. Appropriate renewable energy sources, particularly solar with generators, could reduce consumption. In this paper, typical boat requirement was calculated to be 42.10 kWh/day. A driven by DC motor using electrical power generated onboard PV system, battery, small generator. carrying capacity vessel 20passenger 8hours day. designed system consists 10.6 kW PV, 1.6kW rated gas generator, battery storage 16 batteries, each placed 6V, 333 Ah, 48 V 5 3000 rpm speed controller. paper includes design details sizing HOMER Pro dynamic simulation MATLAB Simulink.
